What is it?

Permanent lifting magnet activated and de-activated by the sole action of a few seconds current impulse.

Operating principle Advantages
The load lifting capacity is exclusively based on the intrinsic force of the permanent magnets.

Magnet activation and disactivation are accomplished by applying only a very short current impulse.
Safety: No accidental release of the load due to power failure or electric cable damage.

Constant performance: Energy consumption close to nil resulting in no heating up of the magnet.

Duty cycle:100%

No wear - Maintainance free

Environmentally friendly: No emergency batteries needed.

The electro permanent magnet is based on the use of two different types of permanent magnets. One, usually made of Ferrite, is the "static magnet". The other, usually made of Alnico, is the "reversible magnet".

The two magnets are disposed so they can combine their magnetic forces into the load to lift it (operating phase) or, to short-circuit their magnetic forces to release the load (resting phase).

The passage from the resting phase to the operating one is achieved by applying a very short current impulse which reverses the polar orientation of the " reversible magnet". Therefore there is no use of any electrical current throughout the operating phase.

Criteria of choice: Traditional electro-magnets or electro-permanent magnets
