Eddy current

It’s operating principle is based on the induction of eddy current (Foucalt eddy current) through the metallic material via a Pulsating Magnetic Field generated by a drum rotating around its axis; the intensity of said currents is proportional both to that of the magnetic field at that point, and to its frequency, hence to the inductor roller angular speed. An electric current generates an internal magnetic field, which in the case of the separating machine will oppose the magnetic inductor; consequently the electro conductor material is rejected by the drum prolonging the fall trajectory, whereas the inert material follows its natural path.

SIS - Eddy current

The SIS is our eddy current separator specifically design for your larger fraction material, ranging from ¾”-6" with a capacity that ranges from 10tph to 25tph. The massive frame of the machine provides maximum robustness, while maintaining easy access to the inside of the ECS for friendly maintenance. Some of the special features of the machine include a VFD for both rotor and belt, electronic emergency fast breaking system with no clamping, and the option to include a double splitter hopper for long throw. The SIS comes in three different belt widths for different plant designs and capacities, these sizes are 40", 60" and 80" wide. They all feature a fiberglass shell coated with ceramic tiles to prolong the lifetime of the equipment and minimizing downtime.

VIS - High frequency eddy current

Our high frequency eddy current, the VIS, features a design engineered specifically for the smaller particles difficult to recover by some other ECS. With features like an air cleaning system, automatic splitter cleaning system, a concentric rotor, direct drive inductor drum for maximum frequency of up to 4,000rpm, and a ceramic shell this eddy current is built to recover more and last longer. The VIS comes in two different sizes to meet different capacities and applications.

T-VIS - Ultrahigh frequency eddy current (6000rpm)

The new SGM titanium eddy current separator was specifically designed to process the extra fine particles below 3/16". It has the same special features as a 40" VIS eddy current with the difference that the TVIS includes a stronger direct drive motor and a Titanium sleeve on the inductor drum for it’s protection. At the same time, the machine was built with a stronger, more robust, frame to hold the 6,000 revolutions per minute of the inductor drum.

GVIS AND DIS - Specialized high frequency eddy current

In order to provide solutions to better fit different applications, SGM Magnetics has created a set of eddy current separators specifically designed for the Glass Recycling Industry, Wood Processing and Domestic Waste Recycling.

For the glass recycling industry SGM created the GVIS which provides a better elimination of contaminants from glass cutlets. These contaminants can be present in the form of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals. The GVIS provides the elimination or recovery of both of these metals by using a high frequency eddy current separator and a suspended self-cleaning overbelt magnet.

On the other hand, the DIS, specifically designed for the wood processing industry as well as domestic waste recycling, also referred as municipal recycling facility (MRF) will provide a better recovery of different metals because of the high frequency eddy current separator with concentric rotor.
