Drum magnets

SGM Drum Magnets are provided in two different types: permanent magnet drums and electromagnetic drums. Both magnet drums are specifically designed for different applications, for example the permanent magnet drum type TPR or TMP are not only used on the recycling industry, they can be used for the deferrization of any non-magnetic material such as fodder, cereals, fertilizers, foundry sand, grit, or other materials. Whereas the electromagnetic drums type TMR, MDM and PDM are predominantly used to recover the shredded steel  for auto shredder facilities, as well as to clean the recovered shredded steel from copper embedded material such as rotors, transformers and stators.

Electromagnetic drums type MDM and PDM

The electromagnetic drum comprises an appropriately shaped high-field electromagnet which is stationary in relation to the ground, and a steel shell which attracts the ferromagnetic material. It is driven by a sprocket connected by a chain to a gear motor. The magnet unit is held by a shaft secured to the support frame by steel bearings.
